Role Details:
In this hands-on role, working closely with engineers, suppliers and internal teams, you’ll deliver service, maintenance, installations, and repairs for a wide range of tech from packaging to robotics including PLCs, servo drives, conveyors, and other mechanical components. You’ll work across multiple customer sites, troubleshoot complex issues, and ensure machinery reliability and efficiency while maintaining high customer satisfaction.
Reporting to the Field Supervisor, in this completely autonomous role, you will:
• Spend 20% of your time on projects – managing obsolescence and technology upgrades / updates
• Design and deliver operator and maintenance training
• Interpret AutoCAD schematics and technical manuals to provide technical advice and recommend system efficiencies and improvements
• Meet customer satisfaction and Visy operational KPIs through outstanding customer service delivery
• Take ownership of your work and contribute to continuous improvement strategies maximising machine performance, reducing maintenance costs, and delivering results for customers
• Flexibility to travel interstate and occasionally work extended hours during commissioning or service periods is essential
What You Will Bring:
• Current Victorian A Grade Electrical Licence
• Solid post-trade experience in field service, maintenance, or installation
• Strong mechanical aptitude; experience with SEW AC/DC drives, pneumatics, hydraulics, and robotics highly regarded
• Proficiency with PLCs (Allen Bradley, Siemens, Omron), touchscreen interfaces, and robotics programming / mods
• Experience reading and interpreting AutoCAD circuit and mechanical diagrams
