Condition Monitoring & Lubrication Engineer

As a Condition Monitoring & Lubrication Engineer, you will be part of Visy’s national reliability group, playing a critical role in improving asset reliability, reducing downtime and optimising maintenance practices across our Pulp & Paper operations.

Reporting to the National Electrical and Automation Reliability Manager, this role focuses on best‑practice condition monitoring, vibration analysis and lubrication excellence. You’ll work closely with site reliability, maintenance and operations teams, while providing expert guidance and leadership in predictive and precision maintenance.

What you’ll do:

  • Lead and continuously improve condition monitoring strategies including vibration analysis, tribology and lubrication
  • Collect, analyse and interpret rotating equipment data to identify early-stage failures
  • Drive predictive, preventative and precision maintenance practices to reduce unplanned downtime
  • Lead lubrication effectiveness programs ensuring correct lubricant selection, application, cleanliness and frequency
  • Maintain and optimise vibration and oil analysis databases
  • Conduct Root Cause Analysis investigations and publish technical failure reports
  • Support sites during significant downtime events and reliability escalations
  • Develop, publish and maintain procedures and standards aligned to engineering best practice
  • Mentor and monitor lubrication contractors and site-based teams

What you’ll bring to the team:

  • Tertiary qualification in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering (degree preferred)
  • Certified Category 2 or 3 in Vibration Analysis
  • Certified MLT1 (MLT2 desirable)
  • 4+ years’ experience in reliability engineering within a continuous process manufacturing environment
  • Strong background in condition monitoring, lubrication and asset reliability
  • Experience with Root Cause Analysis and reliability-centred maintenance
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to influence operational and engineering stakeholders
