The Opportunity
As an Inventory Controller, you'll play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our busy distribution centre by maintaining accurate inventory records and supporting exceptional service delivery. Working closely with warehouse operations, suppliers, and customer service teams, you'll help ensure stock is in the right place at the right time, enabling us to meet customer expectations and operational targets.
This is a hands-on, autonomous role where no two days are the same. You'll be responsible for investigating stock variances, coordinating inventory activities, supporting inbound deliveries, and identifying opportunities to improve processes and inventory accuracy. With a strong focus on detail, problem-solving, and collaboration, you'll become a trusted subject matter expert for inventory management within the site.
The Role
Reporting to the Inventory Manager and based at Minto, NSW, you will be responsible for the end-to-end stock control across the Visy business. Your role will focus on service delivery excellence, safety and compliance, and productivity of the operation.
Key Responsibilities
- Keep inventory accurate by carrying out regular cycle counts, investigating stock discrepancies, and ensuring stock levels are correctly reflected in the system.
- Stay on top of inventory performance through daily stock checks, monitoring shortages, tracking purchase orders, and helping maintain accurate inventory records and reporting.
- Help maintain an organised warehouse by ensuring stock is stored correctly, rotating inventory where required, managing damaged stock, and reducing picking errors.
- Coordinate incoming stock and supplier deliveries, making sure receipting is completed accurately and inventory is available when customers need it.
- Work closely with warehouse teams, suppliers and customer service to resolve stock issues, answer queries, and support smooth day-to-day operations.
- Contribute to continuous improvement by identifying inventory issues, supporting process compliance, maintaining accurate records, and helping drive operational efficiency.
What you will bring:
- Previous experience in inventory control or related roles within a warehouse or distribution environment.
- Strong knowledge of inventory management principles, processes, and best practices.
- Familiarity with COR & Load Restraint
- Excellent numerical and analytical skills, with a keen eye for detail.
- Solid understanding of supply chain and logistics operations.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in using Microsoft Excel for data analysis and reporting.
