Role Details

Based at Visy Board Gepps Cross, this role is embedded within our manufacturing operation and plays a critical part in maintaining paper and board quality standards. Reporting to the Technical Manager, you will conduct laboratory testing on raw paper and finished corrugated products, manage trial data, support the paper claims process, and perform random corrugator quality checks.

With authority to quarantine and reject non-conforming materials, you will work closely with Supervisors, Sales, Technical Centre staff and Paper Mills to ensure issues are identified early, documented correctly and resolved efficiently. This is a practical, quality-focused role that sits at the centre of production performance and customer outcomes.

What You’ll Do

• Conduct standard laboratory tests on raw paper and finished board products
• Quarantine and reject non-conforming paper, board and converted products
• Maintain accurate electronic test records and laboratory trial registers
• Gather objective evidence and documentation to support paper claims
• Work with Corrugator Supervisors on non-conformance investigations
• Perform random corrugator quality checks using standard checklists
• Coordinate product and material trials as directed
• Provide quality feedback to Paper Mills to support mill-wide improvement
• Support National paper audits with data and technical input
• Maintain compliance with safety, environmental and quality procedures

What You’ll Bring

• Experience in laboratory testing or quality control within manufacturing
• Strong documentation and evidence-based reporting skills
• Ability to work closely with production teams and supervisors
• High attention to detail and structured data management capability
• Understanding of claims processes or non-conformance management (desirable)
