About the Opportunity

Our new glass factory in Yatala is our largest investment to date. It will recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland glass each year to produce 1 billion bottles. With advanced machinery and control systems, we ensure efficient, high-quality production. Located next to our box and can plants, the site will form a beverage container precinct, supporting customers and creating new job opportunities. 

What you will do

Within the Hot End area, you will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining glass-forming equipment within a highly automated glass production plant. You will oversee the transformation of molten glass into high-quality glass products, ensuring that production runs smoothly and meets strict quality standards.  

• Rotating Shift:  8-hour shifts that includes two consecutive weekends off every five weeks
• Full Training provided through the Visy Training Academy  
• Starting rate from $40 per hour (Plus OT and Shift Allowance) onwards 
• We offer clear pathways, real development, and support every step of the way
• Start in September 2026

In this role you will

• Operate and adjust automated forming equipment to meet production specifications 
• Inspect products, report defects, and support quality improvements 
• Perform basic equipment maintenance and assist in reducing downtime 
• Follow all safety and environmental protocols 
• Collaborate with engineers and production teams to improve processes  
• Work closely with Hot End, Cold End, and Maintenance teams to ensure smooth production flow  

What you will bring to the team

• Hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment and confidence working with automated machinery
• A strong safety mindset and a proactive safety mindset 
• Good mechanical aptitude and attention to detail  
• Exposure to SCADA/PLC systems and continuous production environments is desirable 
• A team player who communicates well and works collaboratively 
• Someone who’s proactive and always looking for ways to improve processes
