Reporting to the Shift Supervisor, this role supports the running of the day to day operations of our busy Glass plant in Penrith.  This is a full time permanent position working day shift hours with flexibility to provide shift coverage from time to time.

What you'll do:

• Furnace control experience is not essential as on the job training is provided.
• Monitor the melting furnace and its ancillary systems.
• Identify and report the maintenance needs of equipment/furnace.
• Prepare written or computerised operational records as required
• Monitor computer alarms essential to the quality operation of the plant and production systems
• Be involved in Furnace shutdowns/start ups
• Coordinate maintenance work with the relevant departments

What You Will Bring: 

• Good computer skills
• Process control and trouble shooting skills
• Forklift licence (Desirable)
• Front end loader licence (Desirable)
• Maintain a high level of housekeeping in the work area
• Mechanically minded and be able to work independently.
• Trade Qualification (desirable)
