About the Role

At Visy rPlastics, we’re looking for a Process Engineer who thrives on solving problems, improving systems, and making a real impact on plant performance. Based at our Somerton site, you’ll work closely with Operations, Maintenance and Engineering teams to identify inefficiencies, troubleshoot issues, and implement practical solutions that improve reliability, safety and output. Reporting to the Engineering Manager, this is a hands-on role where no two days are the same. You’ll be involved in both day-to-day operational support and longer-term improvement initiatives that directly influence site performance.

Key Responsibilities

• Promote a strong safety culture through active site engagement
• Diagnose and resolve process and equipment issues using structured problem solving (RCA)
• Identify and eliminate bottlenecks impacting plant performance
• Improve equipment reliability through RCA and FMEA analysis
• Lead and support continuous improvement initiatives across the site
• Develop and embed improved processes, systems and ways of working
• Support capital projects including scoping, technical input and business cases
• Improve inventory and parts management using LEAN principles

What You’ll Bring

• Degree in Process, Mechanical, Electrical, Mechatronics Engineering or related field
• Strong understanding of engineering principles in a manufacturing environment
• Practical problem-solving ability with experience in RCA, FMEA or LEAN tools
• Ability to analyse technical data, drawings and operational issues
• Strong communication skills and ability to work across operational teams
• Hands-on, proactive approach with a continuous improvement mindset
• Strong ability to prioritise and manage competing demands
• Experience in manufacturing, maintenance or process improvement highly regarded
