The opportunity:
Visy Logistics Australia is a key player in the global logistics sector, recognised for providing sustainable, digitally advanced supply chain solutions. As a critical Division of Visy Industries, we harness the company's substantial volume, footprint, and infrastructure, as well as its manufacturing and procurement prowess, to offer tailored Logistics solutions to all participants in the Industrial, Beverage, and Consumer Goods sectors.
Our Visy Logistics team, located in Coolaroo is currently seeking a fleet controller with exceptional leadership, communications, and organisational skills. Key responsibilities include scheduling & rostering fleet movement, managing internal relationships across various stakeholders, and maintaining customer satisfaction. You will be eager to work in a fast paced yet rewarding environment where you can utilise your attention to detail, IT savviness, and knowledge of CoR.
Reporting to the Regional Operations Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Daily rostering, allocation of driver runs and controlled supervision of team
- Ensure any delays or deviations are communicated as soon as possible to the customer
- Ensure compliance with Legislative Requirements against all elements of CoR, mass management, & fatigue management
- Communicate effectively to all team member on planning and any delays that will affect operations
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with all internal and external stakeholders
- Manage and monitor driver’s performance, leave entitlements, truck servicing, safety and hazard reporting and optimise company assets through double shifts, changeovers, and preloads to ensure each prime mover meets its utilisation at greater than 95%
- Load planning & optimisation via solid analytical skills with the ability to systemically plan resources
- Recognise opportunities to improve current processes and operations
- Provide ongoing support, guidance, and training to team
What you will bring to the team:
- Prior experience in a similar role within the Transport, Logistics, or warehouse industry
- Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S, CoR & NHVR legislation
- Experience using SAP, WMS & TMS is desirable
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- A continuous improvement mindset with good change management experience
- Ability to communicate and build strong relationships internally and externally
- Must hold a current driver’s license.
