The Opportunity:
Visy began manufacturing corrugated cardboard boxes in Melbourne, Australia, in 1948 and has grown to become one of the world's leading privately owned packaging, paper and recycling companies.
Based at our Kilsyth plant, as a Designer specialising in our Lithographic division, you will report to the State Design Manager. You will be responsible for working from a job brief provided by Sales. The role will be focusing on but not limited to creating CAD drawings, concepts, specifications, sampling, mockups, and meeting with customers.
Duties:
- Receive and interpret briefs to understand design requirements.
- Incorporating client specifications and industry standards.
- Translate conceptual designs into technical specifications for the manufacturing process.
- Collaborate with production teams to ensure feasibility and efficiency in design implementation.
- Produce high quality samples for client approval, showcasing the proposed design in tangible form.
- Iterate on designs based on client feedback and project requirements.
- Fostering positive relationships internally and addressing design related queries
- Concentrate efforts on both food and non-food sectors, tailoring designs to meet the specific needs and regulations of each industry.
- Stay informed about industry trends and innovations to enhance design solutions.
- Collaborate with the sales team to understand client needs and deliver tailored design solutions.
What you will bring to the team:
- Experience in design across packaging, print or allied sectors.
- Experience in design-based software such as CAD & SolidWorks
- Excellent attention to detail
