The opportunity:

Based at Somerton, Victoria, the Fitter will be responsible for OHS&E of employees, contractors and visitors and demonstrating appropriate Safety behaviours and achieving Operational KPI’s and budget targets as set.

The Role:

Reporting to the Production and Engineering Manager, your key outcomes will be to;

  • Assisting to formulate action plans and driving continuous improvement with systems to ensure they are efficient, transparent and deliver required results.
  • Plant to compliant, relevant OHS&E legislation.
  • Support and work with Managers, colleges and staff to implement and deliver on initiatives.
  • Maintain processes that ensure product quality meets customer expectations.
  • Develop or improve systems/Audits to ensure the highest standard of Housekeeping and Safety is maintained.
  • Ensure appropriate compliance audits are conducted and issues arising from these audits to be rectified in a timely manner and documented to ensure zero non-conformance.
  • Monitoring all out going material to ensure quality compliance.

What you will bring to the team:

  • Trade qualified
  • Ability to read and understand engineering drawings
  • ‘Hands on’ Practical experience in a maintenance environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and strong problem solving skills.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Strong time management skills.
  • Ability to train and train others
  • Forklift licence desirable
  • Maintenance on Saturdays (Optional) – Overtime paid at time and half
