The opportunity:
We are currently looking for a Shift Manager to join our Visy Glass team based in Penrose, Auckland. This is a permanent full time position working on a rotating shift pattern, over 4 days on and 4 days off. Reporting to the Unit Plant Manager you will manage the operations, working with designated shift employees to achieve agreed KPI’s including productivity and quality targets. You will be responsible for the coaching, development & performance management of your team. You will lead a safe work culture on shift for the health, safety, and wellbeing of all shift employees. Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Participate in production meetings and run shift handover meetings.
- Manage downtime events and other issues impacting on production, escalating, and coordinating support resources as required.
- Detailed reporting and communication of outstanding issues to facilitate seamless 24/7 operations.
- Ensure all manning levels, resources and tools are available for your team to meet production and quality targets.
- Ensure compliance to all company and legislative requirements and investigate and address non-conformances.
What you will bring to the team:
As a Shift Manager, you love to lead by example and are outcome oriented with a 'can do' attitude. Your flexible and enthusiastic approach will ensure strong leadership and motivation. You enjoy being hands on, thrive under pressure, and work with your team to find solutions to the day-to-day challenges, whilst ensuring safety and customer service is never compromised. You will have;
- Minimum 5 years’ experience as a Production Supervisor/Manager (preferably within the FMCG, Manufacturing or Packaging industries). Glass experience is highly regarded.
- Tech savvy and proficient in Microsoft Office, SAP (advantageous).
- Demonstrated ability in meeting individual and team productivity targets.
- Analytical, Process and Continuous Improvement focused.
- Leadership & people management experience.
