We are currently recruiting a Lead Despatcher to join the team at our site in Wiri. The Lead Despatcher role is a key position within the Visy Global Logistics NZ transport division and is responsible for leading the despatch team to support safe operations, service delivery and cost control within their respective business unit.
This position is also a supporter and key influencer in strategic direction setting of both the company fleet and operations. This role will lead the team to focus on asset optimisation, productivity, cost reduction, efficiencies, customer experience, and safety as the lead despatcher, you will be expected to improve safety lead and lag indicators, vehicle utilisation and profitability, whilst improving staff culture and morale
To achieve the outcomes in Safety, Asset Productivity, Customer Engagement, Revenue Capture, Compliance, DIFOT and Labour Management and Leadership, you will need to work with the operational teams to help guide them to successful commercial outcomes.
To be successful in this role, the right candidate needs to be willing to continually review work practices within all areas of their business unit and be willing to lead by example through hard work, creative thinking and a consultative team engagement approach to problem solving.
You will have a minimum 3 years’ experience in a similar Dispatch or Warehouse environment within a Team Leader or Supervisor role within the Supply Chain or Logistics Industries, and will have the ability to balance commercial, operational, and functional requirements while ensuring you present a a safety focussed and customer service mindset.
