Role Details:
As the Health Safety & Environmental Manager, you will be a critical team player in driving the health, safety, and environmental initiatives across 2 sites in Ingleburn and Smithfield Recycling, initially based in Ingleburn with the flexibility to work and be based at any of the three sites. Reporting to the Plant Manager at Ingleburn, you will collaborate with site leadership teams to ensure safety standards are upheld and continuously improved, and coach managers, supervisors, and employees to enhance safety culture and compliance.
What you'll do:
- Lead the implementation and ongoing improvement of HSE systems and standards across multiple operational sites.
- Partner with site and regional leaders to embed a strong safety culture and drive proactive safety leadership.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant HSE legislation, codes of practice, and internal policies.
- Oversee audits, risk assessments, and incident investigations, ensuring timely follow-up and continuous learning.
- Identify and drive opportunities for innovation and improvement in safety performance and environmental sustainability.
- Provide coaching and guidance to operational teams, helping build HSE capability across the business.
What You’ll Bring:
- A formal HSE qualification (e.g., Cert IV in OHS or equivalent) and several years of experience in manufacturing, heavy industry, or a similar environment.
- Strong working knowledge of HSE management systems, regulatory frameworks, and industry best practices.
- Proven experience leading safety initiatives and influencing a positive safety culture at site or regional level.
- Tertiary qualifications in safety, engineering, or business are highly regarded.
- Proficiency in using HSE data systems and reporting tools to support decision-making.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset.
