The opportunity:
Visy Logistics, located in central Riverside West End, is seeking an experienced Operations Supervisor to lead a team of nine operational coordinators. In this hands-on leadership role, you’ll ensure people and equipment are utilised efficiently and that all distribution activities are performance safely, cost-effectively, and in line with customer service expectations. Strong financial acumen is essential to manager operational costs and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement.
Key responsibilities are, but not be limited to:
- Supervise, coach and motivate staff to meet KPIs and deliver high‑quality outcomes.
- Allocate labour and equipment effectively while meeting budget, schedule and SLA requirements.
- Drive process improvements, support SOP development and complete audits with timely reporting.
- Liaise closely with production, Customer Service, Yatala Warehouse and night‑shift teams.
- Oversee payroll, labour planning and equipment maintenance coordination.
- Champion safety, ensure timely incident reporting and implement corrective actions.
- Maintain accurate operational records to support invoicing and payroll.
- Build strong customer relationships and respond promptly to enquiries and service issues.
- Attend daily plant meetings and maintain operational readiness as required.
What you will bring to the team:
- Proven experience in a supervisor or management role within Warehousing or logistics.
- Strong customer service focus and the ability to balance commercial and operational priorities.
- Excellent communication, coaching, performance management and conflict‑resolution skills.
- Experience using KPIs to monitor, manage and optimise warehouse performance.
- Ability to identify service gaps and drive ongoing efficiency and process improvements.
- A collaborative leadership style that builds trust, motivation and team engagement.
