The opportunity

Reporting to the Compliance Manager, as Driver Trainer at Visy Logistics, you'll be instrumental in conducting in-depth training, safety, and compliance assessments. You will work closely with operations to ensure consistent processes and training methods are deployed across Australia and meet the scope of the operational needs within your region. You will be responsible for maintaining relevant Visy Logistics policies, procedures and required documentation regarding Driver training. The successful candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in safety, enjoy the fast-paced environment of logistics, and have a proactive and calm approach.

Key Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Conduct driving assessments to Visy Standards and identify training gaps on annual basis
  • Develop training plans and present training to Drivers based on the Visy Logistics’ Learning Standards
  • Record training and assessment activities accurately within the Learning Management System
  • Providing ongoing assessment of heavy vehicle driver capability, including Chain of responsibility (CoR) awareness, training, monitoring, and support
  • Facilitate and manage state-based training matrix’s including refresher training
  • Promote and pursue safe vehicle, equipment, and systems of work for drivers
  • Assist operations team with investigations into incidents that may occur
  • Liaise with wider teams including Logistics Management, Fleet Controllers, Operations, Compliance, Recruitment etc
  • General administration as required including system integrity, data entry, compliance reporting etc

 

To be considered you must have:

  • Certificate IV Trainer and Assessor
  • Completion of TLIF0005 & TLIF0006 Fatigue Management
  • Current Heavy Vehicle Driver Licence – MC with considerable experience in driving operations
  • In depth knowledge of Road Rules, heavy vehicle national law requirements for drivers and Chain of Responsibility
  • Strong commitment and understanding of OH&S legislation
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite specifically Excel and experience with safety management systems
  • Excellent communication skills: Written, verbal, reporting & presentations
  • A calm and patient approach with the ability to work under pressure
  • Open to occasional travel across SA and WA when required
