About the role

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Senior Process Engineer to join our manufacturing team. The Process Engineer will play a key role in optimizing our paper production processes, ensuring efficiency, quality, and safety are maintained at all times. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated individual to contribute to the success of our company and make a positive impact on our operations.

Duties

Reporting to the Operations Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Conduct analysis of existing manufacturing processes to identify areas for improvement in efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and quality.
  • Develop and implement innovative solutions to enhance process performance and productivity.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including production, maintenance, and quality assurance to troubleshoot process issues and implement corrective actions.
  • Design experiments and trials to test new process improvements and evaluate their effectiveness.
  • Monitor key process parameters and performance indicators to ensure compliance with production targets and quality standards.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation including standard operating procedures (SOPs), process flow diagrams, and technical specifications.
  • Provide technical support and training to production personnel to ensure proper operation and maintenance of equipment and processes.
  • Stay current with industry trends and advancements in paper manufacturing technology to identify opportunities for process optimization and innovation.

What you will bring to the team

  • Bachelor’s degree in chemical engineering, Paper Science, or related field.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in process engineering, preferably in a paper manufacturing environment. (Wet end chemistry applications experience would be an advantage)
  • ABB 800XA QCS / DCS proficiency would be advantageous
  • Strong knowledge of papermaking processes, equipment, and materials.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen attention to detail.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.
  • Commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
