About the Role:

We are building large, automated glass manufacturing and remanufacturing facility in Yatala just south of Brisbane. The factory represents the large investment we have ever made, we recycle up to 200,000 tonnes of Queensland’s glass annually to produce 1 billion bottles a year. We are building next to our box factory and beverage can plan, this will create a beverage container precinct to further support of customers and a range of new career pathways for our staff. The project is expected to be operational in 2025.

 

What you will do: 

Reporting to the Construction Manager, as the Site Manager, you will manage various construction projects executions and be responsible for achieving the project objectives for site safety, program, quality, and environmental performance. 

  • You will manage the project construction execution; responsible for achieving the project objectives for safety, cost, program, quality, and environmental performance, through to completion and handover to the business. 
  • Work closely with the Construction Manager, Program Manager and Engineering team, while assisting the project team to coordinate Civil, Structural, Construction Project Engineers, HSE and Site Supervisors internally. You will also oversee and manage the execution of work through Sub-Contractors and Trades externally. 
  • You will be responsible to ensure that labour, equipment, material, and service resources are available, and that timelines are within scope. You will oversee the execution of construction schedules, planning, programming, and completion schedules. 
  • Manage or be directly involved in design, construction and commissioning of facilities, plant, and equipment.  
  • You will have a ‘hands-on attitude’, and a willingness to build relationships and take initiative and work practically to address problems or issues as required. You will forecast and communicate regularly will all stakeholders regularly about cost, safety, risks, issues, and schedule.  
  • You will assist in project closure including documentation, as-built drawings, and project performance reporting. 

 

Your Experience: 

  • Extensive experience in project site management with a focus on large commercial projects within civil and structure construction or infrastructure.  
  • A very hands-on approach, used to managing multiple interfaces including scheduling of subcontractors, trades etc. to deliver the program of work in the most efficient manner. 
  • 2D and 3D design and model experience.  
  • Experience leading multi-disciplinary teams in a construction execution environment. You will have previous experience working as a Site Manager leading large projects. 
  • Minimum of 10 years relevant project experience.
  • Regulatory and permitting process knowledge.
