The Opportunity
Visy Glass, part of the wider Visy Group, is looking for a Machine Maintenance Fitter to be based onsite in Penrose, Auckland. This is a permanent full-time role, working Monday to Friday (6.30am – 3pm). You will also be required to work on a call out roster as and when required which will involve being on-call for a week and attending to any callouts during that week.
Reporting to the IS Repair Manager, your duties will include supporting job changes and conversions, performing machine repairs and completing planned and unplanned maintenance as directed. This will be carried out in a timely manner utilising the down time with minimum impact on costs and productivity, while adhering to all safe practices.
Other key responsibilities include:
- Performing mechanical activities to repair and refurbish the glass making machines (IS machines), both within the workshop and in the production area.
- Carrying out preventative maintenance tasks.
- Utilising SAP for data collection and analysis of maintenance information and mechanical installation.
- Supporting on project work and maintaining awareness and commitment to employment and legislative responsibilities in relation to safety, quality and the environment.
What you will bring to the team
- Mechanical Trade Certificate / National Certificate in Maintenance and Diagnostics or equivalent.
- 5+ years mechanical engineering / machine maintenance experience.
- Strong fault finding and diagnostics experience
- Strong pneumatics experience
- Experience working in a manufacturing environment
- Strong written and verbal communication
- Health and safety conscious
- A team player
- Able to work unsupervised
