The opportunity:
Our Yatala Visy box factory is an advanced manufacturing facility. This factory is in our Yatala manufacturing precinct, where we also product beverage cans and will shortly also make glass. A position in our box factory will provide an opportunity for you to work consistent hours on a Night or Day shift Monday to Friday.
You will work as part of a team, operating various machines and/or working in and supporting different operational production processes. In your role as a production worker & operator you will work closely with your supervisor and crew to meet production demands, drive operational efficiency; meeting production outcomes in a safe manner, ensuring compliance with our internal and external policies and standards.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Monitor the production of cardboard boxes through various processes which may include corrugation, die cutting and stacking.
- Perform quality inspection checks on newly produced boxes along with other procedural checks.
- Operate computer production systems and interfaces.
- Assist with job changes and associated tasks.
- Trouble shoot - assist with general mechanical maintenance & fix minor mechanical problems.
- Contribute to a safe working environment for yourself and the team.
- Any other ad hoc duties.
What you will bring to the team:
- Previous experience working with a manufacturing or production process worker environment.
- You will feel comfortable working in a fasted paced manufacturing environment, undertaking several manual handling tasks and keeping up with production.
- Strong communication skills, ability to work under pressure and a good eye for detail.
- A willingness to learn and develop in the role. Many individuals who have started at this level have progressed in Machine Operators and other roles in our factories.
