Visy began manufacturing corrugated cardboard boxes in Melbourne, Australia, in 1948 and has grown to become one of the world's leading privately owned packaging, paper and recycling companies. We are seeking Operators of all levels to join our Board site at Dandenong. The successful candidate(s) will:
- Operate machinery to meet production, service, and quality standards.
- Act as Operator in their absence, managing crew and machine setup.
- Assist in machine setup, dismantling, and maintenance.
- Inspect and ensure suitability of die forms, stereos, and inks.
Key responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to:
- Contributing to a safe working environment for yourself and the team
- Operating production machines and associated equipment for the manufacture of cardboard packaging
- Assist with job changes and associated tasks
- Perform quality inspection checks and other procedural checks to ensure the best quality is delivered to our customers
- Housekeeping duties and any other ad hoc tasks required as part of a site production team
What you will bring to the team:
- To be successful in this role you will have to be able to operate in a fast-paced dynamic manufacturing environment.
- You will be fit and healthy.
- Have strong interpersonal skills (clear communication, self-confidence, teamwork and collaboration),
- The ability to work under pressure and display a good eye for detail particularly in quality control.
- Most importantly is your attitude, you’ll be performance driven, be adaptable to changes in the workplace and be keen to learn new skills, processes, and procedures.
- You’ll ideally have previous experience working within a manufacturing environment and hands on experience operating machines.
