Role Details
Reporting into the Electrical Instrument Control R&M Manager, your key objective for this role is to maintain the site equipment, optimise system uptime and reliability, provide breakdown and call-out support, optimise control loop performance, and do minor modifications and improvements. This applies to all installed automation systems, such as the DCS, PLC, QCS, IMS, and drive equipment.
What you'll do
- Diploma in Engineering, Bachelor of Electrical Engineering, Process Chemical Engineering (or equivalent)
- 3 years’ minimum experience within industrial maintenance in a continuous process environment (preferably within the Paper, Aluminum, Steel, Mining, FMCG, Heavy industries)
- Sound knowledge of paper machine Quality Control Systems (QCS) with a minimum 3 years' experience in the maintenance, troubleshooting and tuning of QCS systems.
- At least 3 years' experience in electrical, instrument, and control system fields
- Programming Distributed Control Systems (DCS) and PLC experience
- Knowledge of computer operating systems, Oracle databases, and TCP/IP networking

- Experience in multiply Kraft or testliner board manufacture
- ABB 800XA QCS / DCS proficiency and Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- OSI PI MIMS proficiency
- TQM / ISO qualification
- Variable speed drive knowledge and experience
- You take pride in what you do and have a logical thought process and organised in your day to day tasks
- High verbal and written communication skills, including stakeholder management
- Experience working on projects and shut downs with strict deadlines
- Exceptional fault finding skills, root cause analysis with a solutions mindset, and ability to troubleshoot
- Strong attention to detail and organisational and time management skills
- Analytical mindset focused on safety practices and reporting
