Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, recycling and remanufacturing. We believe materials are not truly recycled until they’re made into something new—and it all starts with Visy Recycling. As Australia’s largest recycler, our extensive network of recycling operations is integrated with our manufacturing sites. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging.

 

Based at our Wingfield site, this is a pivotal position reporting to the National Operations Manager. You will be responsible for ensuring that the SA & WA business complies with OHS&E, legislation, regulations and company policy. Preference given to internal Visy team members. 

What you'll do:

  • Providing leadership, direction and development to your team.
  • Maintaining a safe environment for workers and ensuring compliance with environmental responsibilities associated with Visy Recycling’s SA&WA operations.
  • Improving existing recycling processes and systems to ensure a safe and quality driven environment.
  • Maximising profit and cash flow generated in the business with particular emphasis on the management of conversion costs and financial integrity.
  • Managing the transport and logistics functions and maintain ongoing focus and understanding of the challenges associated with exports while ensuring international standards are continually being met.
  • Ensuring the development of existing customer and supplier relationships through the creation of new business in a profitable manner, including managing and developing new business acquisitions.

  • Strong capability in safety, quality driven operational management
  • Strong commercial and business acumen with the ability to understand and read P&L reports and balance schedules
  • A proven track record in the leadership of diverse functions and teams
  • Strong performance around people management and development
  • An ability to think strategically and tactically
  • Customer and supplier relationship skills
