Job no: 50011375
Work type: Full Time
Location: Berri

At Visy, we’re more than just packaging, we’re driving innovation and sustainability across Australia. Right now, we’re looking for a hands-on Maintenance Electrician with a passion for problem-solving and a good head for mechanical systems to join our team at the Visy Board site in Berri, South Australia.

What’s the role all about?

This is your chance to step into a role where no two days are the same. You’ll be ensuring our high-speed production lines for cardboard box manufacturing run smoothly, fixing electrical issues while also putting your mechanical know-how to good use. It’s all about keeping our plant operating at peak performance, minimising downtime, and playing a vital role in keeping our business moving.

A day in your life will include:

  • Electrical troubleshooting and repairs: You’ll be the go-to person for diagnosing and fixing electrical faults across various production machinery and equipment.
  • Preventive maintenance: Carrying out regular electrical maintenance tasks to prevent breakdowns and keep everything running like clockwork.
  • Mechanical hands-on tasks: While your main role is electrical, you’ll also be called upon for light mechanical work, using your mechanical aptitude to assist in repairs and maintenance across our machines.
  • Keeping things safe: We take safety seriously – you’ll ensure all tasks are completed with the highest safety standards in mind, following WHS regulations.
  • Collaborating with the team: You’ll work closely with our mechanical team and production staff to diagnose, repair, and improve both electrical and mechanical systems.

What you’ll bring:

  • Trade qualification as an Electrician (Certificate III in Electrotechnology or equivalent) & “A” Grade Electrical License.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment, preferably within high-speed production lines.
  • A strong mechanical aptitude, you won’t need a formal qualification in mechanics, but we’re looking for someone who’s comfortable working with machinery and has practical, hands-on experience.
  • Fault-finding expertise, both electrical and mechanical (including PLC troubleshooting).
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance programs and understanding of CMMS systems.
  • A focus on safety, with a solid understanding of WHS practices.
  • Great communication skills and a team-oriented attitude, we’re a tight-knit group, and collaboration is key.
