About the Role

As the Engineering Manager, you will lead a team of 4 direct reports at our BevCan site in Yatla where we produce 2000 cans per minute. You are a big picture person and will be the driving force to lead and mentor your team, whilst establishing and implementing preventative maintenance, organising, planning shutdowns, managing site engineering and working on projects. Working closely with production teams, you will foster a proactive safety culture and implement continuous improvement initiatives to ensure optimal equipment reliability. 

Other key responsibilities include:

  • Lead preventative maintenance and asset management programs to maximise uptime and efficiency.
  • Oversee budget management and deliver timely, accurate performance reports.
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives, focusing on waste reduction and productivity gains.
  • Develop and motivate a skilled, engaged team, ensuring a positive and safe work culture.

What you will bring to the team:

  • 5 years’ experience in an Engineering or maintenance management role within a fast paced production/manufacturing  environment
  • Strong organisational, time management and project management skills with high attention to detail
  • Success in implementing preventative maintenance and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Collaboration and ability to work in a fast paced environment with competing priorities
  • Leads by example and self-motivated with energy and a positive approach to drive results
  • Analytical mindset to find root causes and to think on your feet to offer the best solution
  • Excellent communication and influencing skills to collaborate and engage with internal/external stakeholders
  • Safety and team focused with a mechanical and continuous improvement mindset.
  • Relevant engineering qualifications; certifications in lean or frontline management are highly regarded.
