The Role:

We are looking for a hands-on leader with trade experience who’s ready to take charge! Visy is seeking a Manufacturing Site Manager to oversee operations of our sort and repair Centre for pallets, top frames, and divider boards in Yatala, ensuring the highest standards of safety, quality, and efficiency. As the Manufacturing Site Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring the efficient use of people and equipment while maintaining safe, cost-effective distribution activities that align with customer expectations. What You’ll Do:

  • Lead & Manage: Oversee day-to-day operations, guiding a team of 12 to maximize production performance.
  • Safety First: Ensure compliance with all company policies, safety, environmental, and quality standards.
  • Performance Focused: Drive best practice initiatives, support your team in hitting key targets, and champion continuous improvement.
  • Resource Management: Plan labour coverage to align with budgets, SLAs, and delivery schedules.
  • Equipment & Maintenance: Manage routine and breakdown maintenance activities and cleaning plans to maintain peak efficiency.
  • Quality Control: Conduct daily audits, train staff, and ensure returnable packaging meets manufacturing standards.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with internal teams to ensure smooth production and on-time deliveries.
  • Administrative: Manage all direct reports in relation to wages, payroll, annual leave and performance management.

 

What You’ll Bring:

  • Proven 3-5 years’ experience in manufacturing, trades or production leadership.
  • A high level of mechanical aptitude and expertise in maintenance and repairs is highly advantageous.
  • Experience in shift operations and team supervision.
  • Strong understanding of safety protocols, compliance, and process optimization.
  • A proactive and results-driven mindset with excellent problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lead, train, and motivate a team in a fast-paced environment driving continuous improvement.
  • Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Must have a forklift license.
