About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Workshop Manager to lead our Coolaroo-based workshop. In this role, you will oversee the planning, direction, and coordination of fleet and MHE operations, ensuring optimal safety, quality, and cost efficiency.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MHE and heavy machinery maintenance, with a passion for continuous improvement and operational excellence. You will work closely with internal stakeholders, external vendors, and service providers to ensure our fleet is well-maintained, compliant, and operating at peak efficiency.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily workshop operations, ensuring efficient workflow and achievement of performance objectives.
  • Plan, prioritize, and coordinate repair jobs to minimize downtime and maximize productivity.
  • Lead and mentor workshop technicians with ongoing training, support ensuring high-quality output.
  • Monitor equipment maintenance, including spare parts inventory management.
  • Build and maintain relationships with external vendors and service providers particularly for spare parts & order management.
  • Work with compliance to set reporting programs that assist with COR and compliance activity.
  • Implement and uphold safety standards, conducting regular risk assessments and incident reporting.
  • Manage workshop budgets and expenditures, ensuring cost control and financial efficiency.
  • Maintain accurate work order records and reporting for audits and compliance purposes.

 

What You Will Bring:

  • 3–5 years of experience in MHE fleet maintenance, workshop management, or a related field.
  • Trade qualification in heavy mechanical maintenance (is a must).
  • Strong expertise in maintenance planning, cost control, and compliance.
  • Hands-on experience in troubleshooting electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Excellent interpersonal and leadership skills, with strong stakeholder management abilities.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment with a positive, hands-on approach.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and fleet management software.
