Job Title: Maintenance Manager
Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing and recycling. Over 75 years, we've grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations –predominately in Australia and New Zealand.
We believe materials are not recycled until they’ve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes, water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans, we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealand’s food and beverage packaging industry.
The opportunity:
As the Maintenance Manager at Visy’s Wodonga manufacturing facility, you will lead and oversee the maintenance department, ensuring optimal performance and efficiency in our corrugated board manufacturing plant. The role
Reporting to the Operations Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Ensure the maintenance team complies with Visy OHS and GMP policies and standards, lead safety initiatives, and implement effective risk management practices.
- Oversee effective planning of maintenance schedules, preventative maintenance compliance, major repairs, and process improvements to ensure maximum plant reliability and productivity.
- Manage the maintenance budget, control waste, optimise spare parts inventory, and ensure adherence to financial targets.
- Address skill gaps, enhance technical competence within the team, and ensure Asset Care KPIs are communicated to the maintenance team to clarify expectations and any non-conformance addressed in a timely manner.
- Liaise with other functions to identify key issues affecting line performance and develop solutions and execute actions to rectify the issues.
What you will bring to the team:
- Leadership and Management with a strong background in engineering
- Engineering management experience in FMCG environments
- Stakeholder management experience both internally and externally
- Analytical, Process and Continuous Improvement focused (Lean)
