Role Details

 Reporting into the Pulp Mill Manager, you will be responsible for the following: 

  • Supervise all shift production activities of the Woodyard, Digester and Fibrelines, the White Liquor Plants and Lime Kilns, as well as the entire Chemical Recovery and Power and Utilities areas.
  • Supervise and coordinate shift operations in the pulp mill, ensuring efficient production and quality control.
  • Monitor equipment performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement corrective actions to minimize downtime.
  • Ability to coordinate all training activities for all Pulp Mill operators.
  • Assist with the investigation of any near misses and incidents
  • Assist Area Managers in achieving budget targets.
  • Able to effectively handle plant breakdowns and upset conditions
  • Able to understand mill balances and adjust plant operations accordingly.
  • Maximise power generation and minimise natural gas use
  • Enforce safety regulations and company policies to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Lead, mentor, and train shift employees to maximize productivity and teamwork.
  • Optimize process efficiency while ensuring compliance with environmental and operational standards.
  • Maintain accurate production records and report key performance indicators to management.

What You Will Bring 

  • Strong leadership and problem-solving skills
  • Knowledge of safety, environmental, and industry regulations
  • Ability to work rotating shifts, including nights and weekends
  • Minimum 5 years’ experience in manufacturing of Kraft Pulp
  • Highly proficient in navigating and operating ABB DCS system
  • Proven experience in pulp mill operations
  • Recognised technical skill qualification
  • Good proficiency in computer skills
  • Excellent communication and team management abilities.
