The Opportunity
Reporting to the Financial Controller - Global Sales and based at our Essendon Fields office the Finance Manager will oversee financial operations, including accounting, reporting, treasury, tax, and process improvements, while managing Visy Australia and Singapore transactions. In this role, you will lead the Paper Sales Finance Team to deliver accurate and on demand financial information to support Visy Paper Sales and collaborate with the Leadership Team to provide strategic financial and commercial guidance.
What you’ll do:
- Lead and manage accounting functions, including reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and cost analysis
- Identify opportunities for cost savings and efficiency improvements
- Manage intercompany differences, reconciliation and settlement arrangements
- Develop and maintain effective internal controls and procedures to ensure accurate financial reporting
- Monitor and manage FX currency impacts on business results
- Develop, produce, and maintain KPI’s relevant to the management of the business
- Provide financial guidance and support to management, influencing strategic decision-making
- Review and drive improvements of weekly & month end result processes to promote more efficiency
- Conduct continuous audit of systems, ledgers, processes and automation of accounting tools.
What You Will Bring:
- You will be tertiary qualified, ideally in accounting which includes CPA or CA qualification
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in a similar Finance Manager or equivalent position
- Strong technical proficiency, with outstanding Excel skills and exposure to SAP, Power BI, and Hyperion
- You are self-motivated, proactive, hands on and very organised – tight deadlines are not to be missed
- Proven experience in leading, mentoring, and managing teams effectively, fostering a high-performance culture
- You are a great communicator, enabling you to form strong relationships with stakeholders on all levels
- High level of attention to detail whilst also able to think big picture
