The Opportunity
We are on the hunt for an experienced, resilient and highly motivated Plant Accountant to come on board and join our Food Can team based at our Food Can Head Office in Coburg. Reporting to the Financial Controller – Visy Food Can and a dotted line to the Plant Manager at Wodonga, you will be responsible for the financial management of the Wodonga & Yatala plant and the processes, as well as head office consolidation reporting deadlines and adherence to Corporate Governance policies. Acting as a business partner and key support to the Plant Manager & Head of Operations, your role is to ensure key business drivers are accurately measured and met, i.e. EBITDA, Sales, Safety.
Key Responsibilities:
- Preparation and Reporting of Results
- Preparation of financial and statistical journals
- Monthly reconciliation of balance Sheet
- Forecasting & Budgeting providing weekly updates on monthly profit and KPI results as well forecasting of monthly results to year end
- Analysis of results, forecasts and budgets for the Wodonga & Yatala Plant and explanation of variances to last forecast, last month, last year and budget where necessary
- Consolidation of Food Can reporting
What you will bring:
- You will be tertiary qualified, ideally in accounting which includes CPA or CA qualification
- 5 years minimum experience in a financial and management accounting role within manufacturing/FMCG
- Technically savvy with strong SAP capability, exposure to Hyperion & Essbase is advantageous
- You are self-motivated, proactive, hands on and very organised – tight deadlines are not to be missed
- You are a great communicator, enabling you to form strong relationships with stakeholders on all levels
- You enjoy being accountable and possess a real “Can do “attitude
- Process improvement driven “finding a better way”
