Job Title: Payroll Officer

Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing, and recycling. Over 75 years, we've grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations – predominantly in Australia and New Zealand.

We believe materials are not recycled until they’ve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging. From cardboard boxes, water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans, we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealand’s food and beverage packaging industry.

 

The Role:

The primary responsibility is to ensure accurate and timely completion of the various tasks supporting weekly Payroll processing and ensuring that any legislative changes are reported and updated for Superannuation, Payroll Tax, Single Touch Payroll and PAYG.

You will work with the Weekly Payroll Lead and the wider payroll team in this hybrid position, with 3 days in the office in Reservoir and 2 days remote.

Key responsibilities will be, but not limited to:

  • Accurate and Timely Payroll Processing: Efficiently manage weekly payrolls for assigned businesses, create new employee records and update personnel information, and ensure timely processing of payroll corrections.
  • System Administration: Administer SAP and SuccessFactors systems for comprehensive weekly payroll processing and utilise Kronos for interfacing time and attendance data.
  • Team Support: Assist the payroll team in administering and processing payroll for approximately 4,000 employees across 10 pay cycles.
  • Compliance & Reporting: Adhere to all statutory requirements and provide payroll reports to the business.
  • Ad Hoc Duties: Perform additional duties as required, including supporting the Team Lead as needed.

 

What you will bring to the team:

  • 1-5 years working in a medium/large Payroll environment
  • Understanding of payroll processing and legislation, Ability to interpret awards, EBAs, legislation and learn Visy policies
  • Strong customer and communication skills, excellent Time Management skills
  • Systems experience including SAP, Success Factors, Spinifex reporting
