Role Details
As an Environmental Officer, you will play a critical role in supporting the Site HSE Manager to ensure environmental monitoring, reporting, and compliance requirements are met, reduce environmental risks, and promote a culture of sustainability. This hands-on role is ideal for someone with strong technical knowledge and a proactive mindset, particularly within industrial or manufacturing environments.
What you'll do
- Investigate and close out environmental incidents and complaints.
- Compile and submit regulatory reports (Annual Return, NPI, NGER, etc.).
- Conduct site audits and inspections to ensure compliance with ISO standards.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of HSE systems and tools.
- Engage with community stakeholders and regulatory bodies.
- Provide coaching and leadership to promote environmental awareness and best practices.
- Assist in planning and preparing for external audits and reviews.
- Maintain accurate environmental data and documentation.
What You Will Bring
- A degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience in the pulp and paper industry or similar manufacturing environments.
- Strong knowledge of environmental legislation and ISO HSE Management Systems.
- Excellent communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Confidence in liaising with regulators, consultants, and community groups.
- A proactive, hands-on approach with a passion for continuous improvement.
