What you'll do:
Reporting to the QLD Operations Manager, the Fleet Supervisor will leverage their strong operational expertise, sharp attention to detail, and leadership capability to drive performance and service excellence.
Your knowledge of transport operations will be vital in upholding high safety standards, ensuring fleet efficiency, and delivering optimal outcomes for our clients. In this role, you’ll lead a dedicated team of drivers, build and sustain effective relationships with both internal and external stakeholders, and apply sound financial acumen to manage operational costs and drive continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee a team of metro drivers to ensure daily operations of the fleet, including scheduling and allocation is timely and accurate
- Maintain excellent working relationships with all stakeholders, customers, and drivers
- Communicate effectively with drivers and customers around planning, runs, and delays
- Conduct proactive assessments of operations with the aim of enhancing efficiency
- Manage and monitor payroll, driver’s performance, leave entitlements, and truck servicing
- Load planning & optimization via solid analytical skills with the ability to systemically plan resources
- Recognize opportunities to improve current processes and revenue margins through P&L accountability
- Proactively managing sub-contractors and associated costs
What You Will Bring:
- Prior experience in a Fleet Controller/Supervisor role within the Transport & Logistics industry
- Sound knowledge and understanding of OH&S, CoR & NHVR legislation
- SAP, MT DATA, WMS & TMS knowledge is desirable
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and challenging environment
- A continuous improvement mindset with good change management experience
- Ability to build strong relationships internal and externally
