The Role:
As State Transport Manager, you will lead a high-performing team to drive strategic and operational excellence across a multi-site transport and logistics operation. This role requires a hands-on, commercially astute leader with a solid background in Fleet & People Management. As an experienced transport or logistics manager, you understand the importance of distribution activities being performed safely, whilst ensuring that people and equipment are employed efficiently. What you will do:
- Lead the operational and financial performance, ensuring profitability and accountability for P&L outcomes
- Engage and support staff daily on safety practices, fostering a culture of care and promoting Safety Improvement Plans
- Develop and maintain excellent working relationships with wider departments, senior management, clients and customers
- Enhance and implement supply chain practices to ensure compliance with regulations and environmental best practices
- Promote safety culture, adhere to regulatory and site conditions as defined in policy and guidelines, for the protection of the environment and community
- Ensure strict compliance with regulations, including NHVR, CoR, WHS laws, and internal policies
- Foster a high-performing team culture, driving commercial success and customer-focused excellence
What You Will Bring:
- Extensive experience in logistics or transport at a managerial level
- A proven track record in managing and optimizing complex transport operations and supply chain networks
- Strong P&L management skills, with a solid financial and analytical acumen
- Exceptional stakeholder management, influencing, and business partnering abilities
- A strategic decision-making mindset, with the ability to make timely and effective business decisions while identifying opportunities for improvement
- A continuous improvement approach, with strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented mindset
- Demonstrated experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring high-performing teams
