The opportunity:
As an A or B Grade Operator you will work in a full-time role, (minimum 40 hours per week), Monday to Friday, at our Visy Board, Wiri Site. There may be an opportunity for overtime depending on the business needs. We currently have openings on our day and afternoon shifts.
Reporting to the Shift Supervisor your role will be responsible for operating converting machinery to meet agreed production, service and quality standards for the manufacture of cardboard packaging. Key responsibilities will include.
- Being fully conversant on all aspects of machine operation and quality processes and systems.
- Conduct job changes on machinery and associated tasks.
- Perform quality inspection checks and other procedural checks to ensure the best quality product is delivered to our customers.
- Ensure equipment is correctly maintained and maintenance is performed regularly.
- Maintain safe work and operating practices, and a high level of housekeeping at all times.
- Regularly review work processes and assist in identifying improvements.
- Actively train and support operators, while undertaking additional skills training as required.

The site at Wiri was established in 1997 and has since continuously grown and developed. What you will bring to the team:
As our new Machine Operator, you will have a minimum of 2 years’ experience, operating machinery within a fast-paced dynamic manufacturing environment. A reliable team player, with a strong work ethic, who processes a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices. Along with the following
- Strong interpersonal skills (clear communication, self-confidence, teamwork and collaboration),
- Ability to work under pressure and display a good eye for detail particularly in quality control.
- Experience working with Fiber packaging is highly desirable.
- Ability to work an 8–12-hour shift depending on needs of the business.
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
- Most importantly is your attitude, you’ll be performance driven, be adaptable to changes in the workplace and be keen to learn new skills, processes, and procedures.
