What you’ll Do:
As the Food Packaging Safety & Compliance Manager, you’ll support Visy’s 5‑year Food Safety Plan and help strengthen food safety culture across all divisions. You’ll monitor regulatory changes, advise the business on impacts, support product development and investigations, and maintain key compliance systems. You’ll also deliver food safety training, review raw materials, conduct supplier audits, and manage customer food safety enquiries—ensuring Visy continues to provide safe, compliant packaging solutions.
Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Deliver technical and regulatory guidance to manufacturing teams to advance product development, lead risk assessments and support food safety investigations.
- Create and deliver targeted food safety and compliance training across the organisation.
- Build, maintain and enhance food safety management and compliance systems.
- Review raw materials and conduct supplier and site audits to ensure full regulatory and customer compliance.
- Manage customer food safety enquiries, process food contact requests and prepare required documentation.
What you will bring:
- Proven hands‑on experience in regulatory and compliance positions
- Strong background in Food Safety and Quality within a manufacturing environment
- Solid understanding of national and international food contact material regulations, including FSANZ Food Standards Code, FDA and EU requirements
- Training and practical experience with Food Safety Management Systems (ideally FSSC 22000), including hazard and risk analysis (HACCP)
- Auditor qualifications – lead auditor training highly regarded
- Demonstrated project management experience
- Exceptional organisational skills and a keen eye for detail
- Excellent communication abilities, with the confidence to collaborate effectively across internal teams and external stakeholders
