Role details:
We’re seeking a skilled Machine Operator to join our Shepparton Cans Plant. This is a full-time permanent role on a day shift, working 7am – 3pm.
What you’ll do:
Reporting to the Shift Coordinator, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.
- Operating can forming and welding machinery to meet production, service, and quality standards for the manufacture of food cans.
- Troubleshooting and dealing with production issues, alongside maintenance team.
- Assist in welding, forming and palletising machine setups, dismantling and job changeover tasks for a production run.
- Perform quality inspection checks and other procedural checks to ensure the best quality is delivered to our customers.
- Maintain safe work and operating practices, and a high level of housekeeping.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience within Can making or double seeming experience highly regarded.
- Previous operations experience in a canning or high-speed environment also highly regarded.
- Strong mechanical aptitude required, Certificate III qualification beneficial.
- Confident in working with hand tools and to fine detail when setting up machinery.
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
- The ability to work under pressure and display a good eye for detail particularly in quality control.
- Continuous improvement mindset and willingness to learn.
