About the role:

Visy Logistics is expanding rapidly as we grow our national construction and steel logistics capability. To support this next phase, we are seeking two driven, hands-on Operations Managers to lead daily execution at our customer site in Rooty Hill.

This role is at the centre of our NSW construction logistics network and is responsible for ensuring safe operations, effective driver and fleet management, strong compliance performance and reliable customer service.

You will oversee daily transport and yard operations coordinating fleet, drivers, subcontractors and schedules to deliver safe, efficient and high-performing outcomes. Working closely with planning teams and customer representatives, you will help build a disciplined and dependable operation aligned to our commitment to logistics done differently.

What you’ll do:

Key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

  • Lead daily transport and site operations, ensuring safe driver supervision and effective fleet utilisation
  • Manage company and subcontractor fleet assets to meet operational and customer requirements
  • Support contract mobilisation, including setting up processes, yard flow and fleet readiness
  • Assist with recruiting and onboarding new drivers and subcontractors, aligned with training, compliance and load restraint requirements‑restraint requirements
  • Maintain full compliance with safety, CoR, regulatory and site standards
  • Oversee scheduling, manifests, loading activities and yard control across road and rail
  • Ensure accurate and timely data entry across compliance, regulatory and internal systems
  • Deliver strong customer service and help achieve industry leading DIFOT performance ‑leading DIFOT performance
  • Manage driver rosters, performance and operational communications
  • Support incident reporting, investigations and corrective actions
  • Provide operational reporting and support afterhours issues when required‑hours issues when required

What you’ll bring:

You’re a safety focused transport professional with strong operational experience and a passion for delivering reliable, compliant and efficient outcomes. You thrive in fast paced environments, balancing competing priorities while maintaining a calm, solutions oriented approach.

You’ll also bring:

  • Proven experience in transport, fleet supervision or logistics operations (3PL preferred)
  • Strong working knowledge of safety, CoR, fatigue, load restraint and mass compliance
  • Demonstrated ability to manage, interpret, and report on P&L performance, including identifying key cost and revenue levers to drive commercial outcomes.
  • Strong commercial mindset with capability to optimise fleet utilisation, control overtime exposure, and balance operational efficiency with customer requirements.
  • Experience using TMS platforms (MT Data or similar) and digital reporting systems
  • Solid understanding of transport equipment and vehicle types; PBS/HC/MC exposure advantageous
  • Steel or construction logistics experience highly regarded
  • Strong attention to detail and auditing discipline across safety and compliance
  • Clear, confident communication skills across drivers, subcontractors, customers and stakeholders
  • Organised and adaptable, with strong problem-solving capability
  • HC license is desirable for operational support and fleet movements
