Team Leader

  • Lead shift operations to achieve safe, efficient production and strong team performance.
  • Coach, support and develop operators and technicians, driving engagement and continuous improvement across the shift.
  • Use trade skills to troubleshoot, support maintenance and contribute to improvement projects

Reporting directly to the Production Manager, you’ll play a key role in leading a team of technicians and operators. You will be managing both the day-to-day tasks and strategic planning across Production, Quality and Maintenance to keep our operations running smoothly.

What You Will Do:

  • Use trade knowledge to minimise downtime during breakdowns, maintenance, and project work.
  • Drive productivity by motivating and engaging the team to achieve high performance.
  • Oversee quality compliance, testing accuracy, documentation, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure staff compliance with safety, quality, environmental, and legislative requirements.
  • Maintain clear communication across shifts, with management, and through documented shift reports and meetings.
  • Drive process improvements, support project work, and recognize strong performance within the team.
  • Train, coach and develop team members, ensuring records and SOP updates are maintained.

What you will bring to the team: 

As a minimum you will be a qualified Fitter or Technician, who will take ownership of leading a team of at least 10 employees across various areas of production. As a proactive leader, you thrive under pressure and maintain high standards in fast-paced environments. You will also have: 

  • A minimum of 5+ year’s experience in a plastics manufacturing environment
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail. 
  • Strong background in NPD development end to end  
  • Have a basic knowledge of clearances and tolerances with an ability to read and interpret engineering drawings. 
  • Good written and verbal communication skills, with a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices. 
  • Proven experience leading a similar sized team
