Customer Service Representative – Linehaul
Fixed-term maternity leave contract
Role Details
Based at Essendon Fields and reporting to the Customer Service Manager – Linehaul, this is a fixed-term maternity leave contract opportunity. You'll play a critical role in delivering a consistent and reliable customer experience across our Linehaul network. Working closely with Operations, Allocations, Fleet teams and Key Account Managers, you'll provide service updates, manage customer enquiries, monitor freight movements and resolve operational issues to ensure customers remain informed every step of the journey.
What You’ll Do:
- Act as the primary point of contact for day-to-day customer enquiries and service requests.
- Provide proactive updates on ETAs, delays, disruptions, and service changes.
- Monitor load movements, delivery performance, and POD status across the network.
- Manage customer issues through to resolution, ensuring clear communication and ownership.
- Work closely with Operations, Allocations, Fleet teams, and carriers to coordinate service delivery.
- Maintain accurate customer information, site requirements, and compliance records.
- Prepare customer reports, service updates, and tracking information.
- Identify service risks early and escalate issues where required.
- Support after-hours handovers and ensure continuity of customer communication.
- Promote Visy's commitment to safety in all customer and operational interactions.
What You'll Bring:
- Experience in customer service, logistics, transport, or supply chain operations.
- Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
- A customer-focused mindset with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Experience with transport management or tracking systems will be highly regarded.
