About the Role
Reporting to the Terminal Manager, in this highly operational role, you’ll play a pivotal part in delivering exceptional service across all customer interactions and intermodal freight activities. You’ll manage documentation, coordinate bookings, and liaise with cross functional teams to ensure all freight movements are executed accurately and efficiently. Your focus will be on delivering service excellence, enhancing customer satisfaction, strengthening relationships, and embedding a customer-first mindset across the operation.
What you will do:
- Act as a key point of contact for customers, managing enquiries via phone and email
- Manage day-to-day booking requests and coordinate freight movements while updating internal systems accurately
- Liaise with rail terminals, port operators, shipping lines, and freight forwarders to ensure service continuity
- Prepare and coordinate documentation to ensure all freight activities meet operational and compliance standards
- Proactively identify and resolve issues, clearly communicating changes to minimise disruption and maintain service performance
- Support daily operational planning and coordinate communication between drivers, customers, and internal teams
- Maintain accurate system data and records to support visibility, reporting, and continuous improvement
What you will bring:
- Prior experience in customer service within logistics, transport or supply chain environments
- Strong knowledge of containerised freight, rail operations or port processes
- Knowledge of Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR compliance requirements
- Experience using logistics systems such as TMS or freight tracking platforms
- Ability to multitask and prioritise effectively in a fast-paced environment
