Role Details:
Visy Recycling is looking for a hands-on Fleet Supervisor to support the day-to-day operations of our Queensland fleet. Working closely with the State Manager, you’ll play a critical role in ensuring routes are planned, trucks are running efficiently, and drivers are supported to deliver safe, high-quality service outcomes.
This is a fast-paced, operational role where no two days are the same – ideal for someone who thrives in logistics, problem-solving and leading from the front.
What you'll do:
You’ll be responsible for keeping daily operations running smoothly across drivers, routes and fleet performance, including:
- Planning weekly routes and allocating trucks and drivers
- Monitoring live route performance and adjusting workloads in real time
- Managing driver attendance, performance, and compliance
- Supporting driver training, onboarding, and ongoing development
- Conducting safety audits (telematics + in-field observations)
- Ensuring fleet maintenance, servicing, and fault resolution
- Managing disruptions such as absences, delays, and breakdowns
- Maintaining strong communication with operations, logistics, and internal stakeholders
This is a highly operational role — you’ll be on the floor, in the yard, and actively engaged with drivers and the fleet.
What You Will Bring:
You are practical, organised, and confident managing moving parts in a busy logistics environment. You will bring:
- Proven experience in fleet, transport, or logistics supervision
- Strong understanding of heavy vehicle operations and compliance
- Ability to plan, prioritise and adapt quickly in a dynamic environment
- Experience managing teams, including performance and safety
- Strong communication skills and ability to influence driver behaviour
- Comfortable using systems/telematics to monitor performance
- A proactive, hands-on leadership style
Experience in recycling or waste operations is highly regarded but not essential.
