The opportunity:
As a Hot End Co-Ordinator, you will work in a full-time permanent role, on a rolling shift pattern, over 4 days on and 4 days off, at our Visy Glass, Penrose, site. Reporting to the Shift Manager, you’ll be hands-on in building capability, and be responsible for the effective utilisation and co-ordination of the machinery under your control. In this role you will work in the Hot end of the Plant, utilising your glass package production knowledge, to support a dedicated production team, driving safety, efficiency, and quality while supporting ongoing improvement initiatives. Your main responsibilities will include:
- Operating all I.S Forming Machines at the hot end of the manufacturing plant.
- Being fully conversant on all aspects of machine operation, forming and quality processes and systems.
- Lead by example to embed and maintain a strong safety-first culture.
- Accurate record keeping both electronic and manual.
- Ensure the quality of the glass packaging meets the specifications required of Visy Glass.
- In the event of the Shift Managers absence, you will step up as temporary acting Shift Manager.
What you will bring to the team:
As our Hot End Co-Ordinator you will have minimum 7 years’ operation experience, gained within a glass packaging manufacturing environment. You’ll have an exceptional ability for quality control and defect analysis, with an ability to work under urgency and pressure while maintaining high standards. You will have excellent written and communication skills and processes a strong focus on Health, Safety and Environmental practices. Along with the following:
- Ability to work a 12-hour rotating roster – 2 days/2 nights, 4 days off!
- Quality control and defect analysis- You will have good attention to detail and an eye for accuracy.
- Strong understanding of HSE, quality, and productivity systems.
- A hands-on, solutions-focused leadership style.
- Proven ability to work in a physically demanding and fast paced environment.
