Role details:
We’re seeking a skilled Maintenance Fitter to join our Gepps Cross Board Plant. This is a full-time permanent role on a rotating day / afternoon roster:

• 1 week Day Shift: Monday – Friday 6am – 4pm
• 1 week Afternoon Shift: Monday – Friday 4pm – 4am
• Daily overtime applies after first 8 hours, RDO accrued monthly and Saturday’s available at penalty rates

What you’ll do:

Reporting to the Maintenance Manager, you’ll play a vital role in keeping our plant running smoothly and safely.

• Perform mechanical repairs, routine maintenance, and respond to breakdowns.
• Use CMMS system MEX for maintenance tracking and job management.
• Repair to parts through machining and welding.
• Diagnose faults and problem-solve independently.
• Collaborate with the electrical team during maintenance and breakdown work.
• Working with the production team to resolve issues with minimal downtime.
• Contribute to project work, including installation and maintenance of machinery and equipment.
• Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and lean manufacturing.

What you’ll bring:

• Mechanical Fitter trade qualification
• Good experience in preventative and breakdown maintenance in manufacturing environments
• Skills in machining and basic welding ideal
• Ability to think outside the box when resolving breakdowns and working autonomously
• A proactive attitude and a commitment to safety
