About the role:
We’re seeking an experienced Intermodal Operations Supervisor to join our Visy Logistics team in Yennora. In this fast‑paced and highly operational role, you will coordinate daily freight movements, optimise load planning, and oversee fleet and container operations across our intermodal and wharf cartage activities.
Working closely with internal teams, external customers, and our driving workforce, you will play a key role in ensuring efficient scheduling, strong inventory control, and the delivery of safe, reliable, and customer‑focused service.
What You Will Do:
Reporting to the Intermodal Operations Manager, key responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:
- Support day‑to‑day operations, including driver rostering, run allocation, and supervising the team.
- Manage container movements and inventory, including regular stocktakes.
- Monitor and coordinate the arrival and departure of loaded and unloaded containers.
- Communicate with internal teams and external customers about delays or operational changes.
- Ensure compliance with Chain of Responsibility (CoR) and NHVR requirements.
- Maintain high standards of vehicle and driver safety, service delivery, and customer communication.
- Keep accurate records, including PODs, documentation, and system updates.
- Plan daily loads and optimise fleet assets using strong analytical and resource planning skills.

Monitor operational costs and support cost‑effective decision‑making to improve financial performance.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes and boost operational efficiency.
What You Will Bring:
- Proven experience in wharf cartage and container management.
- Previous experience in allocating, planning, or scheduling, with strong knowledge of CoR requirements.

A sound understanding of cost control and operational financial management.
- Proficiency with logistics and TMS systems, ideally Container Chain, MT Data, and 1‑Stop.
- Demonstrated experience working in a fast-paced and challenging environment.
- A continuous improvement mindset with good change management experience.
- Ability to build strong relationships internal and externally
