The Role:

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced State Manager to lead our NSW Metro Division. This role is critical in driving safety, service performance and commercial results across NSW. You will oversee day‑to‑day operations while also taking accountability of state financial performance, including budget management, cost control, and ensuring profitability across the metro transport & warehouse multisite portfolio.

This position will suit a focused and commercially astute leader with a growth mindset and the ability to influence strategy through proactive relationship management. Through strong leadership and the setting of clear, high‑performance standards, you will own the state outcome, driving accountability, revenue growth, operational results and constructive, performance‑led people management.

What you will do:

  • Full operational oversight of the Metro Division across NSW
  • Accountability and ownership of the state P&L, with a clear focus on margin improvement, cost discipline and sustainable revenue growth
  • Analysing cost drivers, reviewing profitability, and implementing strategies to improve margin
  • Improving fleet utilisation, planning efficiency and day‑to‑day service performance
  • Forecasting volumes, managing labour allocation, and ensuring alignment with financial targets
  • Ensuring all operations comply with NSW CoR, fatigue, load restraint and safety requirements
  • Leading and developing frontline leaders, drivers and operational teams
  • Building strong customer relationships and ensuring service delivery excellence
  • Partnering with national leadership to support tenders, major initiatives and divisional growth plans
  • Growing state revenue with new business, supporting tender activity, customer solutions design and commercial negotiations

What You Will Bring:

  • Extensive experience in logistics, transport & warehouse leadership at a senior level
  • Solid financial acumen experienced in budgeting, forecasting, P&L management and commercial decision‑making
  • A proven growth mindset with experience scaling state‑based operations
  • Demonstrated ability to grow revenue and win new business 
  • The ability to balance growth ambitions with safety, compliance and service excellence
  • Demonstrated experience in leading, coaching, and mentoring high-performing teams
