Plant Manager - Plastics

We’re seeking an experienced Plant Manager to lead our Plastics manufacturing site in Albany, New Zealand. Reporting to the Head of Operations, Plastics, you will be accountable for the safe, efficient and profitable operation of the site.
This is a senior leadership role with full responsibility for performance across safety, production, quality, cost and customer delivery. You will lead a team of functional managers across HSEQ, Production, Planning and Engineering, ensuring alignment across all areas of the operation.
Success in this role comes from building a strong, accountable leadership team and embedding a culture of continuous improvement. You will drive operational excellence through structured processes, improving productivity, reducing waste and enhancing plant reliability.
Working closely with commercial, supply chain and NPD stakeholders, you will ensure customer requirements are met while supporting growth initiatives and delivering consistent operational and financial outcomes across the site.
What you'll do:
- Lead all site operations to achieve safety, quality, delivery and cost targets
- Drive a proactive safety culture and ensure compliance with OH&S and environmental standards
- Deliver continuous improvement initiatives to improve productivity and reduce waste
- Own plant financial performance including budgets, forecasting and cost control
- Partner with commercial and NPD teams to support customer outcomes and growth
- Improve equipment reliability and operational efficiency across the site
- Lead, coach and develop leaders to build capability and succession
- Drive structured problem solving and performance routines across operations
What You Will Bring:
- Proven leadership experience within manufacturing or industrial environments
- Strong experience managing plant performance, budgets and P&L
- Experience driving continuous improvement (Lean, CI, Six Sigma or similar)
- Ability to lead and develop high-performing teams
- Strong commercial and operational decision-making capability
- Relevant tertiary qualification or equivalent industry experience
