The opportunity

Reporting to the State General Manager - Visy Board VIC/TAS, this role leads the Southern Region sales function, responsible for approximately two-thirds of divisional revenue.

You will lead a team of 3 direct reports and ~30 indirect reports across Metro Melbourne, regional Southern Victoria and Tasmania. This is a key leadership role focused on driving profitable growth, strengthening customer relationships and executing regional sales strategy.

As part of the VIC/TAS leadership team, you will contribute to strategic direction, commercial performance and continuous improvement across the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead regional sales performance to achieve revenue, margin and growth targets
• Develop and execute regional sales strategy aligned to business objectives
• Build and maintain strong, long-term customer relationships across the region
• Negotiate commercial agreements to deliver profitable, mutually beneficial outcomes
• Lead, coach and develop a distributed sales team to drive performance and capability
• Partner with Operations, Commercial and Supply Chain to deliver customer outcomes
• Manage core sales processes including debtors, inventory, pallets and non-conformance
• Drive continuous improvement in sales performance and customer engagement
• Promote a strong safety culture and ensure compliance across the region

What You Will Bring

• Proven sales leadership experience within manufacturing or FMCG
• Strong commercial acumen with a track record of delivering profitable growth
• Experience leading and influencing distributed sales teams
• Ability to build and maintain senior customer relationships
• Strong negotiation, problem solving and decision-making capability
• Experience working cross-functionally in complex business environments
• High level communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to operate in a fast-paced, results-driven environment
