Reporting to the National Freight Hub Manager, as a Freight Allocator you’ll be responsible for the day-to-day management and coordination of third-party transport carriers. Working closely with internal and external stakeholders, such as operations managers, procurement, compliance, & planning, you’ll ensure deliveries and pick-ups are execute safely, efficiently and on time.

What you'll do:

• Coordinate freight movements across Visy locations and external customer sites.
• Work with fleet controllers to maximise asset utilisation and minimise downtime.
• Use strong analytical skills to plan, schedule and optimise resource allocation.
• Communicate proactively with customers and carriers, providing updates on progress or delays.
• Manage multiple priorities and resolve problems as they come up.
• Build strong relationships with carriers, customers, and internal teams to secure cost-effective transport solutions.
• Promote teamwork to consolidate loads and improve operational efficiency. 

What You Will Bring:

• Proven experience in transport allocation or a customer-focused role in logistics
• Solid understanding of NHVR and Chain of Responsibility regulations including fatigue, load planning, mass management)
• Proficiency in transport management systems and strong grasp on operational logistics
• Excellent organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively
• Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities, with a strategic approach to resource planning
• A flexible and resilient mindset, with the ability to remain composed and productive in a fast-paced environment
