The Oportunity

Visy Fibre Packaging is entering a defining phase in the evolution of its Specialties division - requiring bold, entrepreneurial leadership to reshape and elevate performance.

This is not a caretaker role. It is a mandate to integrate and grow a complex, national manufacturing business into a unified, high-performing enterprise.

As General Manager - Specialties, you will hold full accountability for a 400+ person, multi-site operation spanning operations, sales and finance. You will operate at the centre of the business, aligning people, assets and strategy into a single national platform.

You will be expected to bring strong commercial instinct - identifying opportunities to strengthen product offering, refine pricing and unlock new markets, while driving innovation and sustainable profit growth.

The mandate is clear: simplify, integrate and elevate performance across safety, culture, growth, operations and commercial outcomes.

What you’ll be accountable for

• Full P&L ownership including revenue growth and EBITDA delivery
• Integration of sites and platforms into a single operating model and culture
• Embedding a zero-harm safety culture across all operations
• Development and execution of innovation and strengthening the product portfolio
• Pricing, product mix and commercial outcomes
• Satisfying our Customer’s needs for service, quality and DIFOT performance
• Delivery of operational excellence through lean manufacturing and asset optimisation
• Strengthening governance, compliance and financial discipline

Visy is powering the circular economy, closing the loop between packaging, remanufacturing and recycling. Over 75 years, we've grown to 7,000 employees and 150 global operations - predominately in Australia and New Zealand.

We believe materials are not recycled until they’ve been made into new products. We collect and sort recyclable materials like paper, cardboard, glass, plastics and metals from households and businesses, and locally remanufacture them back into new, sustainable packaging.

From cardboard boxes, water bottles and jam jars to food and beverage cans, we are using recycled content to power Australia and New Zealand’s food and beverage packaging industry.
